Golden Labrador may sound fascinating for a breed name but this same name is the cause of dispute and confusion among some people in the dog breeding world. When people hear this name, they automatically assume that this is either a golden Labrador or a new breed made from mixing a Golden Retriever and Labrador Retriever. These are possible assumptions but one of these, people should stay away from and the other should accept.

For those who want to adopt a Patterdale terrier for a companion, there are only two necessary precautions. One, you must learn how to keep up with this breed’s energetic disposition in order to give it the proper care it needs. Two, you must learn to accept that it is one of the toughest terriers there is therefore never be shocked if it displays its ferocity and fearlessness in its plight with other mammals such as foxes.

If you want to take in a Patterdale Terrier as a pet, try to remember these two facts. One, the Patterdale is a very active dog and will always be so you should be ready to live with an eternally moving, running and curious little pet. Secondly, the Patterdale is a natural hunter and is good at that so don’t be surprised if it manifests a dire need to prey upon smaller animals.

When you think of herding, you think of enormous cows or horses and a vicious herding dog that chase them towards the fences. What would you think, however, if you learn of a breed that’s tiny and long and is just plain physically inaccurate to herd and steer these larger breeds? Amazing is probably one of the adjectives for it and thats exactly how many define the small dog herder, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
